Hotels are supposed to change bedsheets after a guest checks out and leaves the room to a new guest, that expects to sleep in a bed with fresh and clean sheets. However, how can we know for sure if hotels do what’s expected?
Inside Edition’s investigative team did a simple test. They checked into 9 hotel rooms, and each time sprayed a fluorescent paint onto the bedsheets using a stencil that said “I SLEPT HERE.” The paint was invisible with normal light, but not with ultraviolet light.
Then they checked out, leaving the beds unmade. On the next day, another member of the team booked the same rooms and checked in. The result of the experiment was alarming: three of the nine hotels Inside Edition tested still had the unclean and used sheets.
