Angela Nikolau, 22, and Ivan Kuznetsov, 23, traveled to Tianjin, China, to scale the 2,000-foot-tall Goldin Finance 117, also known as the China 117 Tower. The Russian couple didn’t even bother to take a safety harnesses.
They reached the roof, and then the top of the crane, after sneaking past security. “I always climb to the top if I’m fully confident with my abilities,” Kuznetsov said. “I’m not afraid of getting caught.”
The duo have climbed famous structures such as the Sagrada Familia in Spain, the Shanghai Tower in China and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, posting each climb to social media.
Construction for the 117 Tower is estimated to be completed in 2018 or 2019, and will surpass the Shanghai World Financial Center as the second tallest building in the world.
